[:en]Now in its 14th year Recycle Week is a celebration of recycling, with this year’s theme being,’ Recycling – It’s Worth It!’ and is taking place this year from September 25 to 01 October,
Recycle Week is organised by WRAP with the aim to encourage the public to recycle more, by demonstrating the benefits of recycling items from all around the home. This year’s theme will give partners the opportunity to bust some myths and really show that recycling really is worth it!
Keep Wales Tidy will be running activities throughout the week and promoting their initiatives such as their RecycleIT scheme which helps organisations and schools across Wales dispose of their unwanted IT and electrical equipment responsibly. Working with a Welsh social enterprise, Keep Wales Tidy make sure that items, where possible, are recycled and don’t end up in landfill. Find out more here.
Keep Wales Tidy are also launching their exciting new marine litter plastic recycling initiative in partnership with Terracycle. All volunteers who are taking part in their Be Tidy month and undertaking clean-ups of the marine environment will be separating rigid marine plastics for recycling into new shampoo bottles.
Rachael who works for one of our new members Capital Law is very passionate about reducing the amount of plastic in the ocean and has written a blog piece about how the #JoinTheResistance for Plastic Free Coastlines campaign applies to Wales. You can read the blog post here.
Please let us know if any of our other members are involved in any other recycling initiatives.[:]
