[:en]With a 30 year career in communications, Chris Lines joins the Cynnal Cymru-Sustain Wales team on secondment until March 2016.
Cynnal Cymru is pleased to be gaining someone of Chris Lines’ calibre and is excited about the projects Chris will be leading on over the coming months. Chris has a background in communications in Wales in the private, voluntary and public sectors and more recently as the Director of Communications for Public Health Wales leading on campaigns including Stop Smoking Wales, Bowel Screening Wales and other national screening programmes.
Chris’s background, experience and contacts will enable him to support Cynnal Cymru and the Welsh Government in communicating the Well-being of Future Generations Act to the bodies that are subject to comply with the duty as well as a wider network of interested organisations. Chris will work closely with Peter Davies, Commissioner for Sustainable Futures, on identifying what support public bodies will need to implement the Act as part of the transition to and recommendations for the new Commissioner’s Office.
As Vice Chair and co-founder of CommsCymru, the network of more than 800 public service communicators in Wales and with experience of leading previous election campaigns in his role as Chief Executive of the Welsh Liberal Democrats (1997 to 2005), Chris is keen to apply his skills to the new, exciting projects he will be leading:
“I’m looking forward to working for Peter Davies, the current Commissioner for Sustainable Futures in Wales and one of life’s inspirations, as part of his team in Cynnal Cymru. Sustainable development is a subject close to my heart so it will be both a privilege as well as a challenge to have the opportunity to make a difference.[:]
