We are the leading organisation for sustainable development in Wales, enabling action for a sustainable future. Our mission is to accelerate progress towards a low carbon economy, a fair and just society and a thriving natural environment. We have a broad programme of activities, including official partnerships for Carbon Literacy and Living Wage accreditation in Wales.
As a not-for-profit charity we have a small, creative and dedicated team of six staff and a supportive board of volunteer trustees.
We want to expand the diversity, skills, and experiences of our board to better represent the cross sector of businesses, public sector organisations and community groups we work with.
As a trustee you will be overseeing our governance and supporting the team by providing guidance, challenge and leadership at our quarterly board meetings as well as being encouraged to lead on specific agendas.
If you have experience of being a trustee or are eager to step up to your first role as a trustee and want to contribute to our team, we would love to hear from you.
We are recruiting three new trustees with skills and expertise that will help us to develop our activities and ensure we are delivering impact across the areas we work.
The specific skills and experience we need include:
- Finance / accounting
- Charitable income generation
- B2B communications and marketing
Ideally, we would like to find new Board members who could support our work in these areas. But, if you have a passion for sustainable development and what we do, and think you could help to support and develop our work, then please apply and let us know what you can offer.
“I had never held the role of trustee prior to my appointment to Cynnal Cymru. However, this has not been a barrier to date. Being an energy lawyer with a speciality in renewable technologies, my interest in sustainability is closely aligned with my day to day work. From day one the team has made me feel welcome and part of the family. If you are passionate about sustainability, but have never been a trustee before, then please don’t let this put you off. If I can do it with no prior experience, then so can anyone!”
