Grwp Herio Cymru Sero Net 2035 yn lansio ei her gyntaf

Mae’r byd yn profi effeithiau trychinebus yr argyfwng hinsawdd ac ar hyn o bryd nid yw ar y trywydd iawn i osgoi effeithiau pellach a allai gael effaith negyddol ar ein bywydau ni i gyd. Yn ddiweddar, cyhoeddodd gwyddonwyr blaenllaw yr hyn a elwir yn “ein rhybudd terfynol”. Mae Llywodraeth Cymru a Phlaid Cymru ar y cyd wedi gwahodd grŵp annibynnol i archwilio sut y gall y wlad gyflymu ei throsglwyddiad i sero net, a sut y gallai fod yn bosibl diwygio ei tharged i 2035 o 2050 ymlaen.

Tasg y ‘Grŵp’, dan arweiniad y cyn Weinidog Amgylchedd Jane Davidson, yw:

  • dod o hyd i’r enghreifftiau gorau o newid trawsnewidiol o Gymru ac o gwmpas y byd;
  • herio llywodraeth Cymru a Senedd i fynd ymhellach ac yn gyflymach;
  • dychmygu sut olwg sydd ar ddyfodol tecach, mwy cynaliadwy i genedl y Cymry.

Dywedodd Will Evans, ffermwr 10fed cenhedlaeth o Wrecsam ac aelod o’r Grŵp:

“Rwy’n bryderus iawn am effaith newid hinsawdd ar ffermio yn y DU a dyna pam rwy’n falch ac yn gyffrous i fod yn rhan o’r sgwrs genedlaethol hon ar sut y gall Cymru roi’r gorau i weithredu ac addasu i ddiogelu dyfodol i’n plant. ”

Mae ffermwr y 10fed cenhedlaeth, Will Evans, yn falch o’i waith. Mae ffermwr y 10fed cenhedlaeth, Will Evans, yn falch o’i waith. Ac eto mae ganddo bryderon dybryd am ddyfodol ffermio yng Nghymru a dyfodol ei ferched yn wyneb newid hinsawdd. Mae’n ymwybodol bod angen i ffermio newid ac mae hyn yn rhoi cyfle enfawr. Yn ddiweddar mae wedi ymuno â ‘Grŵp Her Cymru Net Zero 2035’ sydd newydd ei ffurfio, dan gadeiryddiaeth y cyn-weinidog dros yr amgylchedd, Jane Davidson, i helpu i sicrhau bod ffermio a’r system fwyd yng Nghymru yn addas ar gyfer y dyfodol. Mae’r Grŵp yn lansio ei waith yn ffurfiol heddiw, gyda her gyntaf i archwilio sut y gallai Cymru fwydo ei hun erbyn 2035.

Dywedodd Jane Davidson, Cadeirydd:

“Mae sefydlu’r grŵp her yn dangos bod Llywodraeth Cymru a Phlaid Cymru yn “cael” difrifoldeb ein sefyllfa fyd-eang ac o ddifrif ynglŷn â sut y gallwn leihau’r effeithiau a pharatoi ar gyfer y dyfodol.”

Mae’r Grŵp yn chwilio am yr atebion mwyaf dychmygus i lywio cynlluniau cyflawni 10 mlynedd rhwng 2025 a 2035.

Bydd yn ceisio safbwyntiau o Gymru a’r byd; gwneud casgliadau drafft yn gyhoeddus i’w rhoi ar brawf yn agored yng Nghymru a thu hwnt, cyn gwneud argymhellion i Lywodraeth Cymru a Phlaid Cymru yn haf 2024.

Ychwanegodd Jane Davidson:

“Rwy’n herio unrhyw un sydd â syniadau mawr am sut i gyrraedd sero net erbyn 2035 – tra hefyd yn gwneud yn siŵr ein bod yn cefnogi cymunedau yng Nghymru ac yn sicrhau canlyniadau gwell i fyd natur – i ymateb i’n galwadau am dystiolaeth.”

Bydd y Grŵp am glywed gan bobl a chymunedau ledled Cymru a’r byd i wrando ar eu profiadau a’u syniadau, ar draws ystod o heriau allweddol. Yr her gyntaf, sy’n cael ei lansio heddiw, yw Sut gallai Cymru fwydo’i hun erbyn 2035?

Mae galwad yr her gyntaf am farn a thystiolaeth hefyd yn cael ei lansio heddiw a disgwylir iddo redeg am ddau fis, gan ddod i ben ar 28th Mehefin. Bydd dyddiadau lansio ar gyfer heriau pellach yn cael eu cyhoeddi maes o law. Mae gwaith y Grŵp i fod i redeg tan haf 2024.

Mae’r Grŵp yn cynnwys 25 o aelodau annibynnol, di-dâl ac mae’n cynnwys cynrychiolwyr o Senedd Ieuenctid Cymru.

Y pum Her Net Sero 2035 yw:

  1. Sut gallai Cymru fwydo ei hun erbyn 2035?
  2. Sut y gallai Cymru ddiwallu anghenion ynni erbyn 2035 a chael gwared ar danwydd ffosil yn raddol?
  3. Sut y gallai Cymru gynhesu ac adeiladu cartrefi a gweithleoedd erbyn 2035?
  4. Sut y gellid cysylltu pobl a lleoedd ledled Cymru erbyn 2035?
  5. Sut gallai addysg, swyddi a gwaith edrych ledled Cymru erbyn 2035?
